My wife likes cemeteries and so we started off by visiting the one around this church, but once inside, were amazed. The exterior is so plain, it is hard to believe the inside.

This is a lovely church in an ancient churchyard. The church is quite new compared to the site, apparently they buried plague victims there before they built the previous church and this one replaced that. There are many different things to see inside the church, the wood painted to look like marble, the decoration of the dome, which has a...

All of Oberommergau is a feast for the eyes. The whole town has lovely Bavarian architecture with folksy murals on many of the walls. Woodcarving is big here. They got great Christmas stores and it's the home of the BIG Passion Play. Since you're there anyway, don't miss the church. It's lovely.
We have been all over Europe over the past 3 years and any chance we get to visit Bavaria, we ALWAYS make our way to Oberammagau and it beautiful little church. It may be small, but it is so ornate....so beautiful! The Saint is so intricately adorned with lace, and jewels...you can see what pride they have. The cemetery is...

The most beatifull old church ever seen by myself in the most beatifull town off Oberammergau in Bavaria Germany. It snowed for three dayd.
This church does not look like much from the outside, but wait until you get inside. This is the very definition of rococo, down to the last carefully designed infinitesimal detail. It is well worth the visit.
The most beautiful and interesting church, wich I've ever visited. And It's only my opinion! ) The same I could say about it's cemetery.
The artwork alone on the inside is worth the trip and the visit. Also, the cemetery outside is very tastefully done and maintained...the carvings for the headstones are beautiful and traditional to this area.
From the outside this appears to be a small town church, but when you go inside the sheer opulence will astound you. It is obviously much loved.
i liked this church very old fashioned in style and bigger inside than it looks from the outside lovely icons on the wall
