Did the Kandahar top to bottom without stopping, tough on the thighs, snow conditions were excellent, a bit icy and not too many people about. Area has a few too many flat bits for my liking as a skier.

Long lines and the run are skied out by noon. Lermoose Austria is a much better option. Stay away during the first 2 weeks of Feb.

When I was there Was getting on kreuzwankl and skiing to olmpya and kandahar down or a little ways to the next lift. I usually went skiing down into the valley for fun but first time skiers take the gondola when it closed I just got onto kochlberg no problem but a beginner might be stuck up there.

Our kids hadn't skied for a few years and this was a great place to re-learn and practice again. We rented our ski gear at the military facility Hausberg Sport Lodge right next door and it was super convenient. We also got our lift passes there. Garmisch is famous for winter sports and known as Alps peak in Germany. It is nearer to southern Germany cities and provides best experience with Alps. Train, Cable cars, ski sports are amazing.the stay and hostels are reasonable. If you like Indian food then Hotel Taj Mahal is the must visit hotel. Check the weather report before travelling to Garmisch.

This was our first time ever skiing and we had a blast!! We spent the entire day on the mountains. Go as early as possible. The slopes are usually packed around 9am. For first time skiiers, I would advise you to stay in the beginning/intermediate area. There is no warning when you are leaving these sites except a color change... More
