The Markplatz is a large, open area ringed with history. There are buildings on one side dating from the Hanseatic League days; a guild hall on one side; the Rathaus is opposite the guild hall; and the Haus de Burgerschaff (present day parliament building for the free city state of Bremen and Bremerhaven and built in 1966) and St. Petri...

The first place you will visit if you go to Bremen. Beautiful square where you can find the town hall, the parlament and Roland statue. There take place the Christmas market and all the main events in this small but beautiful city.
Good to shop! Many shops available such as C&A, H&M, and many more. Good restaurants to eat when you're tired. Good area to relax and the shops were very nice. When we went there was a discount on most of the things. Very nice area and near to my hotel.
My personal favorite Marktplatz in Germany, the Bremer Marktplatz is at once open and intimate. Grab a table at the Beck's am Marktplatz for great people watching surrounded by incredible architecture. The statue of the town guardsman, Roland, stands guard near the beautiful Rathaus against the imposing St. Petri Dom. Have dinner in the stunning Ratskeller - ask for one...

This market square is surrounded by the old historic buildings. At night the buildings are lit up and it makes for a lovely view. As you are walking around the Bremen city center, make sure to stop through here. My favorite time to walk through here is in December during the Christmas Market. It is buzzing with the shops and...

I have been here in the middle of winter so it was quite quiet and lonely yet still beautiful. You can try different type of foods (ethnic) and fruits (egzotic). Since it is in the middle of everywhere in Bremen, you can have access to big shopping malls, to trams and buses from here...
This place, with the Roland Statue and the beautifully maintained Rathaus is a must, when you visit Bremen and also offers the opportunity to visit the dome - always very impressive.
Bremen Marktplatz is a collection of fine buildings and sights including the Town Hall which takes pride of place, the Roland statue, Cathedral St. Petri and the town musicians. There is so much clustered in such a small area, even on a very wet and wintery December day it was still awesome. Many of the buildings were restored after World...

Beautiful and incredibly impressive City Centre. Loved the old buildings which have the olde world charm and beauty .
