St Michael's suffered considerable damage in WW2 but today is a magnificent restoration of a typical German Lutheran church. The starkly white interior trimmed in gold leaf is so different from most European churches.

The church w beautiful, but what was truly remarkable oboist it was the view from the top! And not to worry, if you can't make the walk there is a lift. On a clear day you get a 360degree view of Hamburg!

A nice protestant church with an enormous tube organ. There is a possibility to take the lift to the top terrace do enjoy a round view of the city.

The Church of St. Michael is a beautiful church offering access to the top to the steeple. Visitors may access the top by stair or the recommended lift. On the top you have a panoramic view of the whole of Hamburg.

Well worth a visit as , internally, it's most unlike other churches/cathedrals. I'm glad we called in.

Stunning views from the top, definately worth the walk up although there is a lift for part of the way! Very ornate church on the inside!

I'd never regret that spent 1,5 hour in this nice church taking pictures and observing the interior inside and the whole Hamburg from the tower - and I wasn't alone with such idea - there were well enough people (tourists and Hamburgers) for that cold foggy January day!:)

This beautiful church stands out from so many others in the cacophony of churches. Beautiful pulpit, organ, and church building. Great place for some quiet.
