Maschsee Summer fest, music bands Radio stations, loads of stalls to eat and drink and listen to Music great place to meet up with people and suitable for all age groups, can even go in the Peddle Boats

Sadly in winter this pretty lake is only available for running walking cycling or blading round. It's flat so perfect for a gentle jog and has interesting distractions on the way round. Would be even more lovely in the summer when all the cages an lake terraces are open to have a drink and enjoy the view.

The Machsee is a large artificial lake near the Rathaus. There are bars, cafes and restaurants, lovely walks and you can rent a rowing boat. I visited the Machsee during the Machseefest. Maschsee is an artificial lake on the outskirts of Central Hannover, the stretch of water is surrounded by restaurants and bars and pleasant areas to sit and relax. I used to row there when I lived in Hannover in 2005-2006. It is an artificial lake sorrounded by restaurants, rowing clubs and living areas close to the City Hall (Neues Rathaus). In the summer small ships are floating around. You can also rent a paddle boat.

This is a great place to walk, jog, bike, row, or just sit on a bench. The trail around the lake is 6km long and well preserved. Quality of life is made with place like this.

While we were not able to go rowing in the Maschsee as we did not have enough time . We spent some time walking and people watching.

Really speaking there is not much to look in Hannover but whatever it is this is the best part. Sit next to lake, have food and beer. Place has many visitors everyday..some come for walk, some for jogging and some for spending time so it never feels boring here...

There is something always happening at Maschsee... Would recommend taking the 6.2Km walk around .. If you get tired .. stop at one of the many Bier Gardens or Bars
