Included in the ticket price these gardens are beautiful and only a short walk from the Alhambra. The building itself is interesting as it was the Summer palace of the Sultans, with hidden passages, etc. All very intriguing and shows how advanced the Moors were.
it is just next to the La Alhambra Do try to spend at least 1 hour there Wonderful place beautiful property Many many tourists in May 2013 ( even at LOW season )
Nice and quiet. Beautiful views and garden. Don't leav Alhambra without visiting Generalife on the way out. (is included in the same Alhambra entry ticket)
Tripadvisor community, believe me - absolutely nothign special!!! Go to Portugal (for example, Sintra) there you will find park! Go to Russia (peterhof and Pusking), there you will find park! At leat go to Paris or Madrid, there you will find parks and gardens! But Generalife??!! - nothing, really nothing special...
Saw the Generalife gardens as part of a guided tour of The Alhambra. May is probably the ideal time of year to visit, as not too hot, and everything was in bloom. Extremely well kept with some interesting features, but quite an uphill, cobbled walk from the Alhambra, so flat shoes imperative!
Beautiful architecture with fountains, gardens and great views. It's part of the Alhambra complex. Wear comfortable shoes since there's a lot of walking and it's cobblestone paths in lots of places
We could not book tickets prior to arrival as they were all half hour slots and it was difficult to judge our arrival time. When we queued and waited for tickets they stated they were sold out for the alhambra and we could only view the generalife. We thought they could have allowed us to wait for the next slot...

My college age daughter and I both loved the gardens and taking in the beautiful views of Granada. An absolute must do if in Granada!
Amazing pools and fountains! Since it's located at the far end of the huge area, it might be tempting not to go there, but that would be a major miss. To me this was the most beautiful part of the Alhambra.
