You don't need to pay a huge amount to get to Mt.Teide. There is one local bus from Puerto Cruz in the North and one from the South. We caught the bus from Puerto at 9.15am in the morning and got off at the first stop in the National Pk. at El Portillo 50 minutes later - cost 7 Euro... More

One of the main attractions of Tenerife, the volcano El Teide (3718 meters high) dominates the island. On a sunny and clear day, from the top you can see the whole area, the shorelines, the neighboring islands, La Gomera, Palma and Gran Canaria. The view of the shoreline is magnificent! The only negative side is that even it the summer,... More

Worth of a half-day-trip. Important issue: we havent planned the trip in advance, so we didnt get the permission to go to the very top- what was disappointing after paying 25€ fot the cable car... But still amazing!!

The drive to El Teide is at it's most beautiful when the low-lying clouds are out, Rising above them and looking out from the mountain tops across the swirling silver sea of clouds is a view I'll never forget. As you get nearer and nearer the volcano itself the vast, barren scorched landscape of the region begins to feel like... More

Great views from the top. Cable car cost € 25 per person (return) and takes you to almost the top. To reach the top you must apply before for a special permit: http://www.todotenerife.es/en/article/show/5044/08-permiso-de-acceso-al-pico-del-teide-1 Top tips: 1. Wear warm clothes 2. Rent a car, as bus is not frequent and a hell of a ride 3. Go and explore (early morning... More

definatley worth a trip, journey up is quite long but the view is well worth it, the cable car i thought was very over priced at 25 euros especially if you are going as a family.

This is a great half day trip from Costa Adeje. Remember time is taken to pick up travellers from other resorts before heading off up the mountain. The Cable car is Euros 25 each, no point in making the trip unless you are prepared for this expense. Air noticeably thin once you get up there, be prepared to be easily... More

If you like the nature, and would like to try walking on the side of a vulcano, this is the place to go... You need to take the cable car up the side, and I cant remember the price for that. The air is very thin up there so you need a good condition to walk. But I think it... More

The lava flows and vistas are definitely worth the trip! Bus ride was a little scarey, very narrow roads and scarey turns, but all in a days work :)

Drove up to the cable car base - sign posted El Teide and purchased the cable car ticket (25 euro each) at the base to the top which is around 3800 metres. I did have to queue for the ticket for about 20 mins and it isn't the most efficient way of getting a ticket, so take some water as... More
