THis place was not expensive to visit and was very well looked after and preserved. It wasn't full of tourists like some of the other places and was amazing to see such an old structure so well preserved. and what an amazing history to the place.

This church is a treasure from top to bottom --- way below street level. The tour is worth the cost! Upstairs, don't miss the mosaics, frescoes, and gorgeous Cosmati floors, paved with stone fragments.

There are 2 earlier churches underneath this one which makes it quite unique. It also has a lovely cloister [with free toilets that are clean].
