Do not miss the chance to see this museum: glass walkways allow you to peer into the ruins of a storied ancient Roman house. The fabulous light show and graphics fill in staircases from a single step or complete a mosaic floor from just a few blotches of remaining tiles. Incredible!! More

This is probably the most extraordinary high-tech "history facility" we have ever visited. As others have said, this Roman villa was destroyed by an earthquake and thereafter buried under a renaissance building and has recently been discovered. You go beneath the Renaissance Palazzo Valentini and are shown by the use of extraordinarily modern visual techniques, the way in which the... More

Just passing on an FYI on the booking engine - I actually called the reservation line from Canada (the booking on-line system showed all the english seats were reserved already) - I had no problem getting a reservation today, for 31May12... The June calendar, though will not be available until 20May12. Hope this helps anyone trying to book - also... More

90-minute or so tour of excavated Roman house with visual and sound effects. Entertaining and informative demonstration of how archaeologists peel back the layers and reconstruct the past, and how there remains much to be discovered. Groups are small, so book your tour well in advance. Only one English tour per day when we were there. Towards the end it... More

The use of high-tech to recreate this incredible Roman home is startling, breathtaking, and really gives you a sense of our (wealthy) people lived. This is really a fascinating experience. Book your tickets ahead to make sure you get the English language tour -- groups are very restricted and the time slots sell out quickly. More

Agreed with the great u can get in review. I had a roma pass which would allow me to enter this museum. However, there was no place for booking for Roma pass holders on the website. Calls to make bookings were not possible, I was put on hold on some voicemail. I went there 2x but all the english ones... More

Fantastic and educational, using real archaelogical remains, lighting and graphics. Really helped us visualise parts of roman life and the technology they brought into wealthy homes in those times. Also fascinating, was the different levels of archaeology within and beneath the palace - where once was a road, was then a palace, which was then converted, by recycling anything to... More

I had a heck of a time booking this tour. Would try with Mozilla Firefox browser and would get to "select" step but nothing would show up. Tried Internet Explorer and kept getting message that the site, ticketone, used JAVA. So went to JAVA site and downloaded JAVA for Firefox for free and then restarted the whole process and was... We stopped by early in the week and booked for the next day. Cool tour. Nothing else quite like it. Need to use your imagination. It's convenient to reach by many bus lines. More
