located in a cool neighborhood of trastevere in a piazza with a fountain. Outside is not impressive, but that's what makes the inside so breathtaking. Beautiful golden mosaic ceiling and an authentic old world feeling.

This church is amazing, I don't know how well visited it is, but if you are doing the Trastevere Walk or the Jewish ghetto, it is well worth looking up. A tip. If you have a mobile phone with memory, download a talking guide of Rick Steve. He really brings sites to life and makes them interesting!

Trastevere is a must to visit, with lots of tiny cobbled streets and authentic bars & restaurants, but don't forget to visit Santa Maria in Trastevere - a stunning chruch, with a gorgeous fountain the piazza.
