Italian masterpieces in beautiful Brera district. Be prepared to see a lot of Madonna col Bambino religious paintings though. More

This is an excellent collection of art treasures. It has Michael Angelos unfinished Pietre, Carvaggios, Bellinis and Hayez's wonderful 'kiss'. It is housed on the top floor of a beautiful part of Milans university which is alive and buzzing with students. This is a great gallery, we were made to feel very welcome especially when we were told we go in free (seniors). It has a very good collection spanning the centuries and we spent a long time there discovering favourites in each section. More

A gallery that does not seem to get the publicity others do. I had no idea La Brera existed until my partner told me. Full of amazing art it is a rival to many major galleries. Despite having renovation works (what old Italian buildings don't!) it was well worth the time to visit. More

i expected to find more famous paintings inside, i havent, but the collection is still valuable, specially the size of some paintings that literally take a whole wall!! never seen such !!! very impressive! More

I loved this gallery, a mixture of artworks of interest, but best bit for me the "laboratory" where you could linger and watch restoration and conservation of various works, really interesting insight into what goes on behind the scenes. Also, lovely just to walk around the art school and peek in at the lectures and studios at potential great works... More
