The hall was packed to hear Abdullah Ibrahim caress the piano non-stop for almost 2 hours, an experience to be remembered.
The acoustics is excellent, the theatre beautifully elegant. It hasn't dated in all these years since it was opened in the late 70s (if I remember correctly).
The spacious external areas lend themselves to meeting people and wait comfortably...

Saw four performances of Verdi's Don Carlo here. The theater is modern but elegant. The musical director Noseda is an excellent conductor with a strong but pliable baton. Solo singers were generally fine and the chorus was excellent. Stage designs, sets and costumes were appropriately elaborate. Orchestra was very fine. Almost every seat in the house is a good one...

We went to "Il matrimonio segreto" and it was absolutely good. The opera house is not very impressive, but it's always nice to visit a new opera house when travelling.
