just for the view so you can understand better of the town right away :) some cafes up there as a reward for climbing, though there were not so many stairs really ;)

Lovely place to view the city and have a nice cocktail although so much grafitti it's a shame, I had to angle my camera carefully so as not to include it in my pictures!
Take your time walking up here and enjoy the breath taking views. Well worth a visit with a stop off in one of the small bars for a well earned drink. See the city from above. A must do trip
We loved the wide open space of the Bastione, a real open square , raised above the roofs of the modern town. It was built in the 19th century as extension of the original medieval walls of the old city, to which it is connected. Kids can run free around, as there is no traffic and you have full visibility....

We did the Bastione the hard way and went up the many stairs from Piazza Constituzione though there is a free lift if you follow the signs. At the top, having recovered from the climb we found almost 360 degree views across the city and its suburbs. There is also a cafe/bar serving cool refreshments.
A not-to-miss place if you are in Cagliari. You see the sea and a big part of the city from there. You can walk the stairs of take a lift to/from Regina Elena street.
A good spot to watch cruiser liners leaving at the end of the day. Expansive views over the city and out to sea. Enjoyed walking around the historic area and caught up with a procession from the cathedral.
After taking the lift from near Piazza Yenne and going up the mini mountain, I descended towards bastione Saint Remy, so I guess I was more fortunate than other travellers.
The bastion is as impressive as it looks in the pictures, plus the second day I had the chance to see it again from it's base in a CityTours bus....

There is a great view over Cagliari from up there, so don't be afraid and walk up to the massive staircase. In case you really cannot made that on your feet, walk on the right (when watching it) side of the bastion and go for the elevator.
Magnificent objective with big squars and nice small romantic cafes and restaurants. Beautiful views and city lie under your feet. It´s nice walking, you can come with a car too, but the best way is to take tour on segway....We made it with New Way and it was so special!
