The layers of history in this building are astonishing. The original ancient temple is incorporated into building and you can see the different styles added over the centuries. Do read up beforehand, as there isn't much info in the cathedral itself.
The whole square where this church is based, has been recently restored and is like something you would see in Madrid. The quaint side streets and alleys bring you upon it by surprise. Don't just stand outside and admire the architexture, go inside and soak up the atmosphere.
