You have a piano, soprano & tenor performing Opera’s love song and Italian love songs. The setting and performance is overwhelmingly powerful. You’ll be moved to tears by the emotions. We had the change to watch the Love Duets concert while in Florence. I had personally never watch and listen to an opera live so this was a good introduction. The pianist who was also the host was humorous and he did great to introduce and explain about the performances during the intervals. Not forgetting to mention his excellent piano... More

This was a wonderful evening with several talented and accessible artists. The host and pianist was gracious and pleasant, the venue was exotic and beautiful, and the location--two blocks from our favorite B&B, Bonsignoire, and from our favorite piazza, Santo Spirito, were additional "plusses." Highly recommended.

We saw Madame Butterfly - a superb performance in a charming setting. The church is within walking distance of the historic centre - and they will summon taxis for anyone who wants one at the end of the performance. And the WWW booking system works! Do it!

I agree with the positive reviews of the opera. We went May 16 to see La Boheme. The performance was terrific, both singing and acting. They really need to do something about the photographers though. People take photos throughout the performance, mostly quickly, but we had one selfish lady who recorded long pieces on her iPad. This is so distracting... More

We had a wonderful evening at the opera, and saw the Love Duets. The singers and pianist were excellent, charming, funny, and entertaining. The venue was perfect for the opera, creating a pleasant ambiance for the Love Duets and a good acoustic. I took my family there for a evening when we were in Florence, and everyone enjoyed themselves very... More

St Mark's church provides a wonderful venue for their varied programme of opera. Unabridged operas are performed in the church to a limited audience. On this occasion I saw Madame Butterfly, previously I saw La Traviata. The professional singers are superb, as are the acoustics, and it feels as if you are at private performance. Props are minimalistic but effective,... More

Wonderful evening, saw Barber of Seville and laughed so hard. The pianist was superb and quite entertaining. My first opera and loved it. Extremely small setting I think only 5 rows so just about every seat is great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, also great neighborhood-safe to walk the streets 24/7 and lots of good restaurants.

Just got back from a fantastic evening at st marks opera in Florence. Went on recommendation of reviews - and my daughters encouragement to do something different. We are not opera lovers - but this small venue and 5/6 cast and pianist made for a very special night. They were so close - we saw la traviata and they were... More

This was my first opera ever. I saw The Barber of Seville. The performance and cast was fantastic and hilarious. I strongly recommend making time for this on your next trip to Florence. The church is also in a great neighborhood with lots of food and locals.
