The duomo of Siena is possibly better looking on the outside than the inside. The most memorable detail to me was the combination of deep black and white stone. Sienna is a wonderful town filled with interesting little streets, lots of places to eat, delicious gelato and our most favorite Cathedral. It is true that Orvieto is also striped and has gold on the front, but it's the combination of the outside stripes, the inside which includes the Piccolomini library and the baptistry that sets Sienna above the others...
