Very pleasant and not too strenuous walk up from the town and excellent views from the castle and lookout tower, accessed by an interesting long tunnel corridor.

It was worth the walk up the hill - it was a great place to explore and beautiful views of the surrounding area.
This Castle has the most stunning views of Assisi and the countryside. The best time to go is before sunset so you can get a good view to see the stars come out
On a busy day down in the town, we went up to the castle. Fantastic choice, views all around, climbed up to the top - also the two towers flanking the long wall. Next time will bring a small picnic / snack

Note that the steps up to the top can be quite a challenge for some but it is the experience that matters. Spectacular view awaits you. If you are planning of walking back to Assisi town centre from...

Walking up to this place you can see how powerful the area was - spiritually powerful that is. Every thing is peaceful here, everything feels your heart with a joy I sometimes find hard to believe. Everything is alive.
