we were surprised to know that under and inside this Chiesa was the paternal house of st Francis please visit it and see were st francis was prisonned by his father inside the church , we found a young man restoring this church

Really good to see something of where Francis grew up, and have some space to experience 12/13 century places in Assisi when you see the warehouse/passageway. Could have spent longer here...

This is a nice church to visit - nothing outstanding in the church itself but behind it, through a door, there is an old workshop that is said to have belonged to St Francis' father, which was interesting. Outside the church there is a lovely statue of St Francis' parents.

Dear little newer church off Piazza del Comune. Peaceful. Has tiny cell where Francis's parents kept him prisoner to stop him from giving up his wealth and following God

Impressive place and atmosphere. You can still feel the spiritual devotion around the place.

This church was right next to my hotel. Very nice, but not the most spectacular Assisi has to offer (obviously). There's a little stairway down to a chapel with some great wooden pieces, though.
