This is the place where history and modern life are together; you can find everything you looking for. A lot of small, cheap but tastefull eating places. You can reach by bus or metro from Ouchy or Gare. All the shopping centers in the center of Lausanne, only good by walking.
Reason to visit: There are many shops, house banks and lots of transport lines cross that place. The Church is beautiful but nothing special (I like more the Cathedral)

gorgeous area, the st. francois church in the middle is gorgeous, it's also central. check out "blondels" chocolates - one of the best in lausanne. or, if you're feeling unoriginal, theres a starbucks there too. (one of the only two in lausanne!)
The house where Edward Gibbon lived for many years, and where he completed his Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, once stood in Place Saint Francois, where the post office stands now. There's a commemorative plaque on the corner of the building.
Its a place in Lausanne with church....thats it. At night time the 'entertainment' is getting less and more risky since some strange character always stroll in this area. Nothing to see.
With its St. François church, a nice place with Starbuck coffee and many shops. There is a bus stop where many buses transit.
Pivot placement to all shops and entertainement locations in Lausanne.
Lot of shops and boutiques close by. When in Lausanne, that's where I start my shopping tour.
It's a rather small space for such a big city. It lacks a little charm, the cathedral is beautiful but they are so many things going on at the same time that you can't really see it. And they are not enough seats to just hang out.
