A great area to cycle around and view the wildlife, not forgetting the domesticated Highland cattle. We stopped at the very good camp site on the southern fringe.

Great place to get away from the city for a bit. I always love visiting the goat farm, especially when they have lambs in spring time. They have all kind of animals: chicken, cows, ponies, pigs. A great way for city kids to experience farm life. Worth a visit!
Great experience not to be missed! You could easily spend half a day here but we spent 2 hours here and still found it interesting, stimulating and visually compelling. The recent refurbishment has added a new quality to the experience.
I come here a lot when it's summer with my kids and friends. We do picnics or just meet for lunch.
Rent a bike and cycle. It's a bot like "Vondelpark", but much bigger. We do a scavenger hunt sometimes in the forest, my kids like it very much. In the summer there are a few shallow pool with fountains...

It's hard to know where to begin. I love visitng the Amsterdamse Bos!!! Fun fact - it is three timmes the size of New York's Central Park!Since Schiphol Airport sits near one end of de Bos, you'll see planes decending low on the horizon in preparation for landing.
You can check out the link I've provided for a better idea...

Hire a bike and head for The Bos. There are endless walking and cycling trails and in summer a couple of splash pools, you can hire a canoe and paddle about or just sit in the sunshine
Very noisy campsite, lots of cool wildlife though. Other guests were very unfriendly. Only allowed to stay for a week aswell and it's miles from anywhere.
This is a hige park where you can walk, jog, drink or eat or even go to the theatre!
I love going on Saturday or Sunday and jog along the water while Dutch sporters row on the water
It's ideal also if you have children. In fact you can go to the goat's farm where not only you can have...

This park is gorgeous, there are many hiking and running trails. Te cafe near the crew practice area is great to sit and grab a coffee while watching crew practice. Big parking lot and not far from the 5 and 51 tram stop.
If you like to escape Amsterdam city centre but does not want to travel too far to see "nature", then this forest is really a good place to go.
A lovely place to have a great walk especially for those you like a flat walk way. I totally enjoyed walking there last Autumn and stepping on the lovely autumn leaves...
