There is a great exhibition of engravings by Jacques Callot that are not to be missed if you are a fan of this art form. M. Callot is a master of the medium with incredible detail and great depth and perspective. Unfortunately the engravings are small so a magnifying glass, supplied by the museum, is required to appreciate the works.

This was once a grand house, but is now used as a gallery. The ground floor was showing engravings by Jacques Callot – I didn’t find this of much interest, except the gruesome “Horrors of War” series. Upstairs was showing works by Frank Brangwyn, which were much more to my taste – I particularly liked his pencil (or were they... More

.......a lover of art galleries. The ground floor of this one did nothing to alter my opinion: very small "lithographs" (not even sure that is right term), usually of people being disembowelled, or worse, in religious rites. First floor, however, features work of Frank Brangwyn. Even I liked that.

By the time you get here you may be museumed out! Worth it only if you have spare time or special interest but not an essential of a visit to Brugge.

Used our Groeninge museum ticket to get in to the Arentshuis for free - not heard of Frank Brangwyn before (shame on me!) but very impressed by the range of his work and his history. Then I learnt that he's an Anglo-Belgian artist (Welsh mother) from the early twentieth century, but more importantly that he was mainly self taught, at... More

we enjoyed both floors of art work. The upstairs work of a contempory of William Morris was interesting, didn't stay long. We had a love Bruges card so didn't feel we needed to stay longer than we remained interested.

Came as part of the ticket to the Groeninge so we went inside but there was not a great deal to look at. Worth going in if you have the joint ticket.

We had never heard of the Arentshuis but discovered it in a guidebook and decided to visit. This museum is fantastic. It contains the artworks and designs of artist Sir Frank Brangwyn who was a member of the Royal Academy (in Britain). A brilliant collection of his work especially the furniture and the Stations of the Cross. Fabulous.
