August 2011 was my shot at redemption. Last year I scaled the tallest Mountain in Pico with a guide and 15 first timers from all over Europe. Made it up the mountain but half way down broke a leg. We went whale watching (accompanied by wonderful dolphins) in May 2010. Wonderful experience. We did it for six days from Lajes. Every day was like a 'box of chocolates', we didn't know what we were going to see. Fin whales, sperm whales, blue whales, sei whales and lots of beautiful dolphins who raced our boat and brought us such delight.... More
