I would agree with other reviewers that this wasn't the most attentive wine tasting experience I've ever had, but the setting was beautiful, the wine of good quality and the cellar door area nicely set out so you could see the barrels behind the counter through a glass wall. It felt quite luxurious. The grounds outside were gorgeous with hanging... More

Set in idyllic grounds the Cloudy Bay vineyard is a lovely relaxing stop. Those that work there are knowledgeable about the wines and the area in general. My only regret is that I didn't have more time to spend there

We visited many wineries on our Australia/New Zealand adventure and had a lovely time at Cloudy Bay. We were on a private tour so our tasting was pre-paid and there was no problem with being served. The woman who helped us was unfailingly polite and informative and we loved the sauvignon blanc. A large tour group had the inside of... More

We went to cloudy bay excited about trying some wines, having a platter and enjoying the setting. The staff greeted us and all seemed ok until when half way through the tasting when all of a sudden we seemed to be invisible, after trying 3 of the wines we were completely ignored, we left without a platter and never did... decided to make a stop at this winery near the end of the day. was surprised that it was really packed...and most of their staff were behind the counter offering tastings to customers. there wasn't really anyone to welcome or direct us to a place where we could get more information. from our walkabout, we noticed the lovely courtyard outside... Stopped here at the end of a day biking around the area. This was the largest winery we visited and had a less intimate feel than many of the others but was probably the best to enjoy a glass or two and take in the nice views. Tip: The three wine sampling platter with paired tapas is good but not... More

My sister and I went In today for a tasting and to buy some wine. My sister was from out of town. She went in and the staff were stressed and overworked. She was made to pay her 5 dollars up front but only got one tasting and was ignored so left without buying any wine or getting the tastings... More

We had a very poor experience at Cloudy Bay. Having previously visited a number of wineries in South Africa and Australia, this was the worst. We were ignored from the moment we walked in, we waited 10 minutes and without any recognition, we decided to just walk out. Very disappointing for a place that is meant to be iconic!

Very disappointing to read your review, our sincere apologies. We have worked very hard to create a welcoming and fun environment at our cellar door, including the expansion of our cellar door tasting area and outdoor wine lounge. These initiatives were designed to enable us to better look after our large number of visitors. Our typically solid reviews support our... More

One of my favourite Kiwi wines, easy to get to while staying in Blenheim and a bigger choice of wines than I can get in the bottle shops at home

Our party of 4 chose to start our day in Marlborough at the iconic Cloudy Bay. Car park was empty (due to off-season) so we were fortunate to have the exclusive attention of our cellar door host Nicky. She was extremely knowledgeable about the wines & whole area - a mine of information. We could appreciate how inviting the expansive... More
