It gives you an impression of the real horror, that was lying ahead for the people, who were interned here in the Second World War.
Compared to my visit to Auschwitz in Poland, this camp is relatively friendly (as if that is possible at all in those horrifying circumstances)
What would make it more impressive is they could restore part...

If you ever wanted to visit a genuine Holocaust memorial and your in Europe you may want to start here, I'll tell you after what I heard about the million or so visitors to Auschwitz last year and visiting this place I don't think I could be one of them as I don't think I would be able to sleep....

We visited Kamp Westerbork twice and can recommend it. Compared to 20 years agon, they now added a visitor centre, restaurant and museum shop. From here you can either walk or take the bus to the Kamp Westerbork Monument, a nearly 3km drive. The monument itself is impressive and on the actual camp itself. Most building have been taken down...

We appreciated all the information which was so interestingly conveyed. The only critical comment would be that they need to do more in other languages for people who do not speak dutch.
