We went on a tour from our resort Grand Bahia Principe in La Romana and purchased our tour from a tour operator in the lobby of the hotel. Online before we left the price was between $85 and $90 per person. We got it from a tour operator in the hotel lobby on the day we arrived for $60 per... More

To enjoy you need to let your hair down and just go with the flow. Commit a day as everything takes a bit longer than expected. That said the guides are cheerful. You go one way between La Romana and Isla Saona by "speedboat" (large open boats with multiple rows of 4 across bench seating). They have twin 6 cylinder... More

The excursions from Viva Wyndham Dominicus are via large catamaran sailboat or by faster powered 'speedboat' catamaran. The speedboat has stops in mangrove and village and good shade. The sailboat takes much longer with less shade and fewer stops. The beach on Saona is private for Wyndham and much superior to beach used by independant operators. the food is provided... More

I live in the Dominican and have led teams to Isla Saona 5 times now. It is beautiful. You get there by either a motor boat or catamaran and come back by the opposite of what you came on. On the motor boat they stop in several places so that the guests can enjoy the view...light snorkeling, shore cliffs, mangrove... More

Saona Island. Because of visit by many tourists on the beaches, coconut trees do not get peace to replant on the beach - very near the water/sea - about 1,5 meters (See the photo with the palms swaying over the water). Result: Beaches change - become wider and wider! Our wish is that some visitors when they visit Saona Island,... More

Picked up by a bus in Bavaro from our resort, took around an hour to drive to Bayahibe where the speedboats were waiting at the bay. There were 2 groups, each had their own guide. After about 20 minutes on the speedboat we stopped at Mangroves for an informative talk; then we slowed down at the Taino caves for some... More

We bought a trip (90 bucks each person) to Saona Island, just a few miles from Punta Cana. We traveled by bus and then by speed boat (amazing for first-timers). Then we went to swim in the most see-through natural pool of the Caribbean sea I ever seen! It was fun and quite relaxing (depends on your mood). Then we... More

My husband and I went to the Dominican Republic for our honeymoon. This tour to the Isla Saona was supposed to be amazing. You could snorkel, enjoy the island, have a nice boat trip, picnic and so forth. THE REALITY was far from it. We had to leave at 6am with no breakfast and sit on a bus for 3... More

We visited Saona through Seavis Tours & fell in love with the island. We arrived in the Domincan Republic by cruise and Saona convinced us that this was our favorite stop by far! The water is gorgeous, snorkeling was fantastic, the locals were great, the food delicious, and the atmosphere was incomparable. PARADISE!

Took this trip to Saona from Punta Cana through our Apple Vacations rep. Our guide was very informative and entertaining. The trip over to the island on the cataraman was beautiful. Lots of fun music and dancing the merengue. Did not like the people on the island trying to selling things "cheapie, cheapie" or the massage ladies. I went to... More
