A fitting tribute to all those who fought so bravely for our freedom. So many names it makes one very humbled. Excellent design and very well laid out. The volunteers in the coffee shop were very chatty and informative.

Sorry about the title. Couldn't help it. This memorial, settled gently and with dignity in the gentle hills that crest the white cliffs, overlooking the coastline that witnessed such brutality and heroism, is in itself, perfect. On display is a Spitfire and a Hurricane. Loads of info about the area and how it got involved in WW2. It has a little souvenir shop, to obviously bring in a bit of revenue, and a nice little tea shop.
Excellent memorial. Understated but very moving. We especially liked the 3 blade propeller design. The wall of names is similar to that of the Vietnam memorial in the States.

The memorial is laid out around a three bladed propeller that is cut into the grass. In the centre is...

Our driver made an unexpected stop at this memorial on our way back from an excursion and we loved it. We didn't realise when we were there that the statue of the fighter pilot actually sits in the middle of a propellor..this can be seen from above the monument as shown on an aerial photo in a leaflet we saw...

We arrived early evening after the site had closed, but was really happy to find that access to the site was still available. We were the only two people there when we arrived, and to our amazement we were treated to a formation fly...
