I havent been here since 1980 😀😀

This museum is among the best we’ve ever visited. The selection of trams and busses is very impressive in itself, but you also get to ride many of them. The museum is very child-friendly and surrounded by beautiful nature. The volunteers who make up the staff are very friendly and happy to answer questions.

Such an interesting place to visit. 90 trams and 50 busses from all over the world. Everything is well presented in a fabulous museum. Lots of fun for the children too. A tram line runs into the woods, where you can have a picnic. A cafe sells ice cream, sandwiches, coffee, cold drinks etc. You can go for a walk in the woods or take a tram back to the museum.

The staff is super friendly and have a lot of interesting information to share.

Dogs are very welcome.

The museum concentrates on trams and busses, but you will get a good idea about what Copenhagen was like in the 50'es, 60'es, 70'es etc. as well.
The whole place is driven by some hundred volunteers - mainly men - who made it all brick by brick and by hand most of it.
It's fascinating in its old school-ness and as a Dane born in the 60'es I still remember some of what I can see at this museum.
Most of the items have lots and lots of information on the side and if you want to know more, just ask the staff around. Not sure if all of them speak English as well as most information is in Danish only, which is a pity. But taken into consideration that everything is done on a very, very small budget you cannot expect them to also translate - if you have the google translate app on your phone you can get a fairly good translation.
You can have a picnic in the small forest - also you can buy soft drinks and ice cream there in the old tram which is now a cafe - or bring your own lunchbox like more Danish families do every year.
I have been there more times and will definitely come back again to see what's new and to enjoy this old-fashioned and lovely atmosphere with both my dad who is 85 and my son at 23!

Arriving in the middle of the country I found myself waiting at a station for a tram to arrive.
A promising start and a sheer joy from there on.
The entry tram bumps its way along a short track into the museum. The conductor was very friendly and helpful.
This is a museum run by enthusiasts not just for enthusiast but for everyone.
It contains an excellent display of everything tram!
A line runs out into the countryside, stopping at a lovely picnic spot with a handy cafe. In a tram of course.
If you like trams go for a visit, or just go, you'll love the place!

90 Trams and 50 busses from all over the world collected in one museum (one of the old remises in Copenhagen was taken apart and rebuild in a beautyful forrset in the middle of Zealand).

Danish tram museum
We visited this as part of a group tour, so had a few extras included by the museum, ie pick up at the train station by the musuems vintage bus and a guided tour by the principal of the museum. I believe the vintage bus does pick ups on weekends, but check their website.
I feel sure the museum would be just as accomodating to any interested party.
This museum has an extensive collection of tram and bus related items. Trams run continually thoughout the day and all trips are included in the entry fee. The main line runs through a picturesque wood and terminates at a loop where there is located a unique kiosk and dining tram.
A refreshing ice cream or other refreshment or a meal can be purchased here, with all proceeds going to the museum. A delightful 30 minutes or more can be had here while awaiting yet another vintage tram for the return journey.
Back at the main area you can visit the new bus displays, and the tram shed which house a vast array of historical photos and items. Many details are given in English and of course Danish.
Seek out a tour of the works shed and see the excellent restoration under way.
Highly recommended for all age groups.

We were 9 people celebrating my brother's birthday at the museum. It is a great venue. We had rented a dining tram that dated back to ca. 1890. The tram was in a great condition, and inside was a long table that easily accommodated us, it could comfortably hold another five. We were driven in the tram out into the forest, roughly 1.5km, and there we had lunch. The lunch we brought ourselves, and drinks, but coffee and tea was included.

Overall, it is great setup. You can have a party like we did, you can go for rides in the old trams, you can go and enjoy the beautiful nature, walk in the forest, and finally you can of course enjoy the museum.

The museum holds trams and buses in all shapes and ages. The majority were originally used in Copenhagen, but there are a good few from other cities in Denmark as well as other countries.

The admittance fee is 100 Danish kroner. Renting the tram was around 1400 Danish kroner, so overall we thought it was very reasonable for what we got. And since the place is run by volunteers, the money goes towards materials, purchases, and work the volunteers cannot do themselves. A worthwhile investment.

The volunteers do a great job. They at enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly.

Only downside is that the place is a bit of the beaten track. But we'll worth a visit

Not an easy place to get to but worth the effort. All the staff are volunteers and do it for the enjoyment. Always saw them smailing and helpful. Very kid friendly but people in wheelchairs will not have an easy time (definately not wheelchair friendly) - you will need to step up and down to do almost everything. Refreshments are limited but lots of places to eat and drink your own lunch. Very much a work-in-progress, and it always will be given that they actually use most of their historic vehicles.
