We have visited the Kufstein area maybe five times; usually for skiing. As it was raining we have decided to visit Kufstein and its fortress. You can find parking very close to the fortress - costs 1,- € per 120 minutes, and you can get one hour more for free - between 12 and 13 (arriving at 11 you can... More

A short uphill walk from the Aldstadt (and not far from the station) will take you into the courtyard of this very impressive castle. We were met by our English-speaking tour guide but first - at 12 noon - we had a recital of classical music played on the world's largest (and I think only) outdoor organ. An amazing sound... More

we travelled with our 12 y.o. daughter -and the castle proved fascinating to all ages! do not miss the ascent in the glass elevator - the view of the city is wonderfull. since the castle served as a prison, the are many associations (and some recreations) relating to famous figures from several 19 cent. national movements - most of the... The large castle is accessible after a short climb or a ride with the elevator (included in the price). There are several museum collections in the various buildings. Seeing all will surely take 2 to 3 hours.

We visited the castle by chance. Kufstein has organized a medieval knights and knaves event with a lot of people in antique clothes involved, with market stands, music, magicians and other entertainments. Otherwise we would have paid 2 € less, that means 12 € per Person. You may expect a well kept castle and a lot of insight into late... More

Excellent views from the top. There is a funicular to the top. The fortress has a feeling of history.

Walking around the fortress was one of the highlights of our visit to Kufstein. It has a beautiful view over the river Inn, and its several museums are interesting. At noon every day there is a live organ concert. There is a little cable-car from the town center that takes visitors up the side of the rock to the fortress.... More

We visited just after Christmas so there was snow on the ground. The view from the fortress of the surrounding area is well worth the entry fee on its own. That said there is also lots to see - with a number of smaller museums inside. The fortress is in a very good condition and you could easily spend a... More
