Really enjoyed the wine tasting sitting by the cosy fire. Great host, knowledgeable about the wine but also fun and entertaining.

Thank you for your kind review. It is great to hear that you had a fun and informative experience at Cellar Door. The fire is just what you need on those chillier days.

This is a beautiful area of Tasmania and the Tamar Valley. This vineyard is a little off the beaten track but well worth the visit.
I was primarily interested in the Pinot Noir and found them to be of high quality. The Wizard is first class as it should be at $65. This is my pick of the available Pinots.
I had a small disagreement with the management about being charged to taste the wine when I had purchased over $300 dollars worth of wine but this has been rectified. A bonus arriving with the wine order was some Tasmanian Scottish style Shortbread. I would revisit, and will be purchasing more of their wine in the future.

A great cellar experience. Fiona, who looked after us, was was knowledgable, friendly and just made our visit an experience to remember. The cellar door view and and warm fire are great. We do a lot of wine tastings and this was worth writing about. Apart from that, Holm Oak have great wines! If you're thinking about which wineries to visit, make sure you include Holm Oak.

Traveling from Oregon, USA wine country to Tasmania, Melbourne and Western Australia. The half dozen Holm Oak wines we tasted were outstanding across the board, each according to their varietal. This was the only Australian winery that had such a uniformly excellent presentation. Kudos to the Holm Oak winemaker!

Fiona, our host, was knowledgeable and incredibly personable. She was both professional and fun. She knew her stuff but wasn't afraid to say when we were bouncing against the boundaries of her experience, or ours. Fiona made our day.

Our only regrets are that we can't easily return or get Holm Oak wines here at home.

An amazing Spring afternoon with lovely wines, tasty local cheese & meat platter. The hostess Fiona was really charismatic, loved her job, was really passionate about the wine 🍷 industry and how climate change is evolving. Knowledgeable on local producers! 🤩She read the audience really well, was able to adapt and cater to multiple groups 🤩👍🏻
Great afternoon! Thanks Fiona! 🤩

We visited Holm Oak on the recommendation of a work colleague. Tassie had turned on a late September gale, so the wine flight and roaring fire was a memorable distraction. Spent a couple of very enjoyable hours tasting the wines and taking refuge from the wild weather chatting with one of the wine makers, the Wizard Pinot is a must try. Came away with a wonderful dessert wine ‘Pig and the Pooch’ that crossed the Nullarbor back home with us. The unusual label says a lot about the charm of the winery. If you are touring the Wine Route out of Launceston make sure Holm Oak is on your itinerary. After Holm Oak we turned left on the main road back towards the Batman bridge and then turned right just before the bridge winding our way along the picturesque Tamar river back to Launceston stopping at Ninth Island winery en route.

Thank you for your wonderful review. I am pleased that you enjoyed the wines and your experience at cellar door. During the colder months the couches by the fire are the definitely the best seat in the house and the perfect place to kick back with a glass of wine. We hope you can return to the Tamar region again in the future.

We have been to Holm Oak twice - 2010 & 2021.
Our visit this year was a cold & slightly damp day in late June.
There was no one else there & the fire was on!
I’m a wine club member there so perhaps that helped - but we spent over. 2 hours throughly enjoying the wines & ourselves.
I can’t recommend it too highly.

I loved this place. We tried very nice wine and some cheeses, got to feed the pigs and play with the dogs, I left with a nice bottle of moscato.

We were received at Holm Oak with a wonderful welcome from Tamika. We hadn’t booked but we’re still able to do a tasting. Choice of four wines for $10. Three independent minds found something to like in several Holm Oak wines and didn’t leave empty handed. Tamika was both informative and friendly, never lecturing or preachy. It is possible to receive as much or an little attention as you need which is just the way it should be.
During our time we did see others partaking in the cheese plates available, enjoying a Saturday afternoon in the sun amongst the vines. Lovely spot and all the better for the friendly attention we received
