I loved walking through the Botanic Gardens to get to the Opera House. There is lots of diversity in plantlife, and the gardens make a relaxing break only a short distance way from the city. The ibis birds also provide great entertainment!

Beautiful semi-tropical gardens almost in the city, full of plants, birds and great views. The birds are so tame it is like being in walk in avery - after the bussle of the city this is a complete contrast!

The Gardens border the Sydney CBD and plan to spend some time here. Bird life is also amazing - but as a tip wear some good walking shoes as also can be a bit hilly - depending on the path you take.

Amazing to walk through the Botanic Gardens while having the view on the buildings of CBD. You can see exotic plants and animals, find places to relax as well as exciting walks along the harbour to see the bridge and the Opera Hlouse.

A mere stone's throw from the bustle of the Sydney's downtown core is this oasis of lush Australian flora. There are numerous paths and a labyrinth of trails that take you through some lush, native plants. It is bordered on the southern side by the seawall walk that skirts the harbour. This walk takes you towards the iconic "Rocks" district... More

Almost every city has a botanic garden. But whats cool about Sydney's Royal Botanic Garden is that it is so comfortable to just lie on the grass and sleep during the winter month. It's pretty clean and I bear testimony to that. During my short nap there, there was no problems with insects or people disturbing. It's really a good... More

With the stunning harbour as a backdrop the gardens, if not pretty enough, are well worth a visit. Grab a blanket and picnic basket for a great relaxing time right in the heart of the city.
