After strolling along the street in the morning we noticed that evensong was on at 5pm and decided to visit. We both enjoyed the music and song with a choir of young men and voices soaring to the heights of the Cathedral roof. Would recommend

While there are thousands of churches and cathedrals all over the world possibly way more impressive and grand, this is a must visit on a trip to Melbourne as it stands gloriously in the heart of the city. Walking inside takes you back a few centuries and you can feel the serene heavenly essence echoed throughout its walls.
If you enjoy beautiful churches and appreciate leadlight, then you will love this amazing cathedral. It is also a very peaceful environment and memorable to visit this very iconic historical site. The cathedral is free to visit although many offer a donation while there as I did.

This is a must see for any tourist, we don't have many old buildings of interest in Melbourne or in Australia for that matter (we are too young). This Cathedral is really beautiful and well maintained I visit it every time I go into Melbourne.
A most beautiful sanctuary in the busy heart of Melbourne. Attended Evensong, and can recommend. 5.10pm Tues-Fri during school terms.
