What a wonderful setting. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Viognier which was recommended to us as we wanted to try something other than our favourite sav. We had a cheese platter which was perfect. Not being a wine drinker vineyeards don't hold that much appeal but Matawhero is DIVINE - the setting, the food, the service. Not too stuffy so you feel scared to bring kids - they can run around and play petanque but still a really quality offering. Would thoroughly recommend!

Our second favorite vineyard in Gisborne! Great Pino Gris and the cheese plate with the 2 different chutneys were off the hook!
