While, we visited on a wet day, we thought that the lake looked murky/dirty and was not a good look. However, the grounds surrounding it look great and would be a lovely place for a stroll/picnic on a fine day.

It's a great walk around the lake area, good playground for children, don't feed the birds! The cafe on the lake isn't much chop though, horrible coffee and very basic, take a picnic in the summer and enjoy the surroundings, lovely park.

We took a DUCK tour around Rotorua, and we went into Lake Rotorua. It is a charming, relaxing lake, perfect for fishing.

Had a walk around Sulphur point/ bay, take care with children. You get to see some geothermal activity in parts. Parts of the walk a cycle path as well.

It was truly beautiful - the lakeside café & watching Volcanic Air Safaris planes & helicopters was awesome. A lovely place to just sit and watch or wander around. We had fish & chips for dinner by the lakeside one evening. Magical

The lake front is beautifully maintained and with the swans and seagulls is worth a visit - good pathway to take a wander along. A must do in Rotorua.

We have been to visit Lake Rotorua a couple of times and is very nice to walk along. THere are lots of swans there though and the black ones can be a bit nasty at times. There are lots of attractions there and even have a scenic plane ride if you want too. There is always something happening on the... More

We were here for New Year's Eve and the firework display was fantastic. I was at London's Millenium display and this was better than that especially the finale - the sky was completely filled with colour and the noise was tremendous.
