A real experience to see what remains of the last whaling operation in WA. The Green business name is still into meat but not whales thankfully. Rough and tough nation building. Great for kids.
Learn the tale of our whaling forbears. Explore the whale chaser Cheynes IV and Visit the animals enclosure. Coastal scenery also enjoyable.
Fantastic , enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide. Really interesting history. And recent history too. Great to see great people keeping the history alive. Well worth it.
Hello
Thank you so much for your review on Whale World, we are delighted with a 5 star rating from you! Our guides all work extremely hard on their tour presentations so it is wonderful to get such great feedback on your experience. The whaling industry really is an interesting piece of WA social and economic history, and we are...

Surreal to see up close how large whales are, and then think that the bones you view are actually not fully grown whales.
The history is sad, and at times you might get the creeps, but that is just due to the nature of what the whaling industry did. The museum does a great job painting a picture of what...

Hello Magdus
Thank you for taking the time to review Whale World. We get a lot of feedback from people that are left awestruck by the skeleton exhibit, standing near the bones really gives an understanding of the size of these mammals. It is a hard history that we tell, but one that we beleive is important to share. It...

Excellent movies and the guide was knowledgeable. Plenty of signs of explanation and you can wander around by yourself as well. The cafe wedges were disgusting and chunky chips not wedges and they had run out of sweet chilli sauce.
Hello
Thank you for your review following a visit to Whale World. Our guides work very hard on their tour presentations, so we are pleased you enjoyed it. It is worth noting though as you have that people can explore all the exhibits on their own if they prefer. The cafe is privately owned and operated, so I cannot help...

We took advantage of one of the guided tours which was included in the entrance price - our guide was excellent - very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Had lunch in the cafe - a gorgeous view out of huge glass windows. A bit expensive, but what isn't in WA. Looked at everything there was to see including all the videos, then...

We visited with 2 kids under 6 so we only had to pay for us 2 adults which was still $53 with one concession.
An interesting place with little movie theatres including a 3D movie in old large whale oil tanks, the last whaling boat used (which we enjoyed having a good look around, you can get into all the...

This old whaling station has now been converted into a museum. They have retained a number of buildings and features such as the tanks for boiling and extracting oil. The history is gruesome but important for us to remember. They have a number of displays of old photos, equipment, movies, a whaling ship and whale skeletons. the size of the...

As much as I am very glad that the whaling industry in our waters has been shut down, Whale World gave me an insight into the very tough conditions that all in the industry toiled under to earn a living. Really worthwhile exhibit as it also promotes how important whales are to our environment and shows many examples of the...

Hi Ned
Thank you so much for your review following your Whale World visit. We are pleased that you found it interesting, as they say there are two sides to a story, and the men that worked at the Whaling Station certainly did not have it easy! We find that the average visit length is over 3 hours so it...
