There are so many wonderful restaurants and bars around the square, horse and carriage rides a must and the lighting is fantastic on an evening, most beautiful square we have ever visited.

Beyond my expectations! There's markets here and is really a must see at night! Krakow is just a beautiful city and extremely underrated IMHO. Food here is wonderful and cheap compared to other European cities. See my pics of the market square at night... I stayed right next to it and just came over to the square at night to...

I was lucky enough to stay lodged in a hostel in this magnificient square in the heart of Krakow. The medieval structures were maintained and there are many horse carriages so you feel you're a few centuries back. And to reinforce this, a trumpeter signals every hour on the half hour on St. Mary's Basilica tower. Spectacular place.
An amazing meeting and dining place. Such a great choice of eating and drinking places. Despite being told by the locals that this is a very commercial and highly priced place we found it very reasonable and the standard of the restaurants were quite high.
Given the size of the square it is inevitable to see (in and around it)...

Our main reason for visiting Krakow was to go and see the concentration camps but wow what a beautiful city Krakow itself is and we wish we went for longer than 3/4 days and will definitely be returning.
The main square is lovely with so much going on you could sit in one of the many cafe/bars and people watch...

A LOT of nice and cosy restaurants all over the square. A bit cheaper if you go just one or to blocks away, but it's a nice place anyway!

This is a great place to chill relax in the many outside restaurants and people watch. All the restaurants we went to served very good quality food at very good value for money.
A lovely area to drink/eat/shop!! What more could you need. A little bit more expensive than the side streets but compared to UK still very cheap. Great place to sit and watch the world go by.
On a sunny day, sat there with a beer in hand watching the world go by...perfect. Plenty to do, and see, lovely restaurants and all very cheap.
