Margaret Island is a welcome break from the city especially on a sunny day. We rented a bicylcle that seats 4 with 4 wheels and went around the whole island. The kids also played in the play ground which is quite big while we soaked up the sun. There are pools for swimming for money but we did not have...

Margaret Island offered a break from the the traditional sightseeing and walking in the busy city during my trip in May 2013. There are lots of different types of transport to rent - some very fun and adventurous such as the option I chose - a little blue car for two people with pedals like a bike. Great fun, although...

Margaret Island is a fantastic place. We got the Metro and after crossing the bridge we had a short walk to the northern tip of the island at which point we strolled along the river Danube. Imagine Hyde Park in London being in the middle of the river Thames and you get the picture. This is a huge island in...

We took the boat and got off at the island. There are sporting amenities here and lots of open spaces, and food outlets. We visited on a bank holiday and think the rest of Budapest decided to go as well. There was a great atmosphere with fairs and entertainment. Otherwise if you visit when there is no bank holiday still...

Excellent place to be for families with children and friends. Easy accessible, quiet but lots of things to do (rent a bike and visit the whole island). We really enjoyed our visit!
It's all about walking and enjoying nature, sunbathing, gazing at the Danube, leisure strolling or a b risk jog, looking at animals at the small zoo, cycling on a surrey, people watching and maybe enjoying a beer or ice cream. No cars allowed on this little island on the banks of the Danube
If you are visiting Budapest, spend a little time at the Margaret island: get a bike or an electric car a take a trip across the island.
If you are trying to get your 10k steps for the day. The entire route around the island will help you get the 10k steps you need and many recommend. There is also the workout section where you can use a gym or join some exercise classes they have in the morning. There is also a Yoga class if you...

We rented bikes for two hours and saw the whole island. It's a beautiful green island full of nice things to do. The Japanese garden is very simple, but it has a pond with tortoises. Try the "langos" a kind of fried pancake with sour cream and cheese.
