the bridges and locks on the Danube are interesting and beautiful. It gets wider and wider from the Czech Republic to Budapest, and is very swift. Definitely not blue! muddy brown, but the views along the river are incomparable.

Central point of the city. Very nice to cross over it over multiple bridges, connects the old and new parts of Buda and Pest together.

We took a trip on the Dunaboat which stopped at Margaret Island, which we got off for a walk and lunch. We were on rather a tight time frame as it was our last day. But there's heaps to do on the island - especially with kids. Had a very pleasant lunch sitting on the rear terrace of the Grand... More

A great place to see this famous river, it is a very busy place with lots of boat travel. Take the tram down the length as it a lovely relaxing way to view the river.

We were on a Danube River Cruise, so our evening cruise was included in our itinerary, but I would definitely recommend getting on the water at dusk with some boat trip and enjoying the incredible light show of the public buildings and bridges along both banks of the Danube. One of the highlights of our trip, and cannot imagine someone... More

Most hop on , hop off bus tours give you an extra day as well as a free trip on the Danube, as we opted to walk everywhere we booked a river trip on its own with individual commentry, out boat took us upto Margaret Island and back along the river, the trip is over an hour and very interesting... Took a boat trip on the Danube. Boats go in a figure of eight. Great views at night. All the bridges and attractions well lit.

I took the Legenda Boat trip and thoroughly enjoyed it! The best way to see Budapest at night. I took loads of photos while enjoying a glass of champagne ( all inclusive). Great value for money 16 EURO per person. I wish I took the 9:00pm or 9:30 pm instead of the 10:00 pm. (There were choices of booking for... More

Well you can't go to any streach of this River without going on it. We went when it was very cold but the sun was out and the boat trip was included in the price of the bus tour. you can get on and off at several landing stages so it's another way to visit an area of this beautiful... More

There are a number of boat rides from the Pest side of the city around Margaret Island, passing the awesome Parliament building and other grand monuments. However, the English narration was largely inaudible or indecipherable because of the heavy accents. Still, if you are looking for a break from walking, it is a lovely ride.
