The beach has hard sand, so it is is perfect for biking. The beach is quite long and it would be very tiring to walking the 20km or so, but on a bike it is quite easy.
i went there in summer and the beach was so nice. there were a lot of people but very clean. it was a pity that i did not have swimming suit with me at that time. I wish i could stay longer something like at least one or two nights to enjoy this awesome beach again there!
Very long beach, shower cubicles, very gently shelving into the sea, calm sea, sands firm enough to ride bicycles on. Lots of cafes on beach. Beach so big it could never get crowded provide you are prepared to walk far enough along it
The beach at Jurmala is very popular in high season but there is plenty of room for everyone. The facilities are excellent and the beach is kept in pristine condition by a troop of cleaners. Not one discarded cigarette butt in sight and the cleanest public loos we've ever seen on a beach!
The beach is great! It's clean, there are bars, toilets and trash cans all over the place, you can get sunbeds if you wish. It's nice and well maintained, loved it and deffinately will go back there.
There is something for everyone scattered around. Bars, play areas, football area, volleyball and areas away from all that. The sea is very very shallow which is great for kids. The beach easily accessible is very very long with clean white sand, backed with dunes.
Once you are there you will not believe to get such kind of beach thinking that you are in the Northen Courtry....of course the weather should be nice to appreciate all, like it 3was for us so...get curious and think about an alternative vacation like we did...you will enjoy it as well as Jurmala city and not only....
Jurmala is a resort city 25 km from Riga, Latvian capital. You can reach it in half an hour by electric train. In fact, Jurmala is a chain of small villages along the Riga bay, with excellent sand beaches, 20-30 km long, so you could walk hours long and enjoy nice pinetree forests, dunes, etc.
