Spis Castle is one of the largest castle complex in all of Europe. We ventured out early one morning out to Spis and spent several hours roaming around this 12th century castle. It was huge!! It is one of the few castles inside the Hapsburg frontier area that was never taken by force!!!!

Spis Castle is the most amazing castle what I have seen so far. So great view out of there, in good condition, nice walking in the areal...have to say it was a great day spent there. Parking is available, and is also easily accessible by bus from Levoca.

Like the title says, the view makes it well worth the climb to the top!

The view from the tower is just great, you...

We took the bus from Levoca to Spissky Nova for 1 euro per person in January. There was snow on the ground but it was a very clear, sunny day! We hiked up the grassy hill in the front of the castle rather than walking up the road as the large gates were closed for that time of year. Unfortunately...
