Four areas representing each of the four terms of President Roosevelt. Each area very different and moving, the unity of the water fountains makes this a stunning monument.

Visited DC 7 years ago and missed out on this Memorial. We walked from Fords Theater, which was a bit of a trek, but we also learned 7 years ago, if you arrive in DC with a car...park it and walk and take the metro-rail. Didn't see a logical route using the subway, so...walk we did. Absolutely beautiful. Such beautiful... More

Being a person who loves to pose for pictures, this is my favorite monument in D.C. due to it's lack of height. It's easy to take pictures here because the statues are smaller and there are many of them. Another plus is that the stone walls protect from chill of windy weather.

This memorial, while near the others, is almost tucked away. We've been through several times and never looked at this particular memorial. It was a nice collection of things from the time period.

I didn't even know this memorial existed until a friend of mind told me it was her favorite memorial in DC and it was a must see. It is off the beaten path from the other memorials, but it is well worth the detour and the extra steps. I think this is one of the largest presidential memorials and the... More

This memorial stretches out along the tidal basin between the Dr. King and Jefferson Memorial. It is a collection of waterfalls and walls engraved with quotes. It doesnt have the power or greatness of the other presidential memorials. FDR was an Amazing president but I think his greatness is overshadowed by his poor moral decisions with all of the affairs... More

This memorial may do more to that end than any other to any individual in town (the King and Jefferson come close). A must stop, for as long as you can afford, when walking around the Tidal Basin. Make the time; this is one of the architects of your modern world.

Very large memorial. Well worth visiting, but if you want to take it all in plan at least an hour because it is very large. The man was elected to four terms.

Beautifully designed outdoor spaces that evoke major eras of Roosevelt's life and times. Great for visitors on wheels/wheelchairs/scooters. Combine it with MLK and Lincoln mMemorials, Jefferson with a little more distance around the Tidal Basin.
