It's like a huge event every year before Lunar New Year. You can see all traditional and creative foods and stuffs, and most of them can have a little taste. Dont miss the temple and the free tea they serve. Worth to spend half day to shop around. More

Dihua Street is one of the most historic streets in Taiwan. Medicine halls line the street, the buildings are antique-looking and emulates charm of the olden days. If you are in Taipei before Chinese New Years, go. Free samples on the snacks! It has that holiday spirit that modern Taipei is having less of ever year. Not much more to say really. There isn't a lot around here to interest tourists, its a fairly run down part of the city generally with a few dodgy looking mechanical shops around the area. The street itself has some nice examples of Japanese occupation era shop house type buildings that really reflect the occupiers building style. They all sell... More

well we walked all the way over there. expecting it to be different I guess. It is ALL herbs.. and not really that old looking.. (the shop exhibit by the Longshan Temple was better) we didnt stay long. More
