We took taxi to this place. Basically it was a gold mine and a railroad along the village. It is a nice place for photo shooting at the station and at the rail. There is a place for you to write your wish on the big lattern and you can release it to the sky without any worries. It is... More

You will never see it in our City life, the place is so serene and the food there is tasty with the old kind of cooking. I love it.

Our initial plan was to visit Fulong White Beach for the SandCastle exhibit, but due to bad traffic jam, we just retoured to Pinxi - Shifen area. Delighted to see rows of paper lantern sellers along the railway, and be carefull since within some frequency there is a real train running along the tracks, so the tourist must be cautious... More

It is a good change and break from busy city life. There are about 6 stops on the pingxi line. It is useful to take the train all the way to the last station - jingtong. On the way up to the final station, we looked and decided on the stations we will get off on the way down. We... More

Pingxi is a great getaway from taipei City. It's easily accessible by train (remember to transfer at Rueifang station) There are many stops along Pingxi line, and the most popular are Shifen and Pingxi. There's a waterfall at the Shifen stop and along the railway track you'll see many folks releasing Sky Lanterns. There are shops where you can purchase... More

We took the train from Ruifang. The train is useful except that the interval between trains can be improved. On weekdays, around lunch time one has to wait for more than 1 hr for the next train. Fortunately, there are many shops and a food street just opposite Ruifang railway station.

If you want to do thee sky lantern, Shi Fen is the place to do it. It's just extra special when a rraft of lanterns rise together and seperate to their own paths. Great atmosphere, especially when the whistle blows to clear the rails for the train to rumble though the main street where you had just released your lantern.... More

Went on this train today, 6th Apr. Rained the whole day, but was still able to see the place. We went straight to Jintong from Ruifang, then worked our way back to Pingxi and Shifen. The attractions in Jintong were pretty run down, so the only thing to do was to walk the old street, which was pretty short, and... More

Stop by Houtong, Ping Xi and Shi Fen station along this railway line. Each town have its own unique point. Enjoyed the visiting the 3 stations and the nice food in the town. Recommend to allocate at least 3-4 hours so that you can enjoy the beauty of Ping Xi.
