Do not make same mistake I did! No need to buy the all day pass. Just get on a boat and pay the individual fare. Also, make sure the boat is going in the direction you want to go. I ended up on the boat for 2 extra hours. Long story short - don't buy the tourist pass. More

We took the orange from Taksin Bridge and all the way to Nonthaburi, around 1 hour ride - 15 Bath pr. person! The trip it self is quite interessting. It's a very efficient way to get around Bangkok, and combined with the Skytrain, it can't be much better. A lot more convenient than sitting in a Taxi stuck in the... More

As other reviews say, the blue flag tourist boat is a ripoff. It follows a shorter route for about 5-10 times as much money. Get on a boat with an orange flag, buy the tickets on board for 15 baht per person. The only major difference is the blue flag tourist boat provides bad English narration. Be sure you know... More

Taking the express boat on the busy chaoprya river in bangkok is like taking a bus just a lot more charming with amazing views. Don't miss this very simple yet amazing way to see many famous sights while taking in REAL bangkok river life. Got to one of the best value excursions in bangkok - but try to avoid morning... More

As long as you do not care about narration, avoid buying the tourist boat pass at the dock, and just get on any of the non-tourist express boats (you can identify the boat from the color of the flags, the tourist has a big blue flag that says 'tourist boat', and it is a different style boat from the others).... When you want to take the river boat ride, don't fall for the 150 Baht tickets at the Express Boat stand. Just get on a regular river boat that locals take, and an attendant will come around and collect only 14Baht from you, giving change even. Tourists all think they have to pay for a ticket before getting on and... More

If you want to discover Bangkok by boat use a boat with yellow, orange or white flag. They stop more often and are cheaper. 14 Baht per trip and not 25 Baht as for the Express Boat. For a day pass of 150 Baht with the EXpress Boat ( blue flag) you can do 10 trips with the other boat... More

At 150baht this is very good value. This is the tourist boat but if you use the public boat the cost will be even cheaper. The advantage of this boat is that you get a commentary along the route and you can get off and visit the major sights such as grand Palace Temple of Dawn, and the Great Reclining... More

Very nice (and cheap) way to get to and from different sigths in Bangkok. We took the boat from Central Pier (you can get there by skytrain). The boat takes you to all the major sights like the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Chinatown. More

I took the Chao Phrya express from Si Phrya pier, which is next to Royal Orchid Sheraton and got off at Nanthaburi the last stop on the ferry. I walked around the town, market and got fresh flower garland. The market was buzzing on Saturday morning. The fares were about a pound for return journey by ferry :) A Very... More
