This is the one of the oldest temples in Chiangmai, located inside the old city. They have a monk chat program where you can sit and chat with monks as long as you like. The temple is beautiful and the architecture of the old stupa is impressive.
After visiting Wat Phra Singh and being so disappointed, we were so happy to come across this cute little temple. The intricate black and gold figures on the walls and doors inside is really amazing. The temple is also much better kept than some we have seen. Merit-making donations hang from the ceilings and there is a welcomed peace inside...

Wat Chedi Luang was about the biggest temple we visited in Chiang Mai.We were spending two hours here.located in the old town
The oldest and biggest Wat in CM. It is inside the moat in the Old City just off the Sunday walking street. Just head along the road from Tha-Pae gate and turn left at the first traffic lights for 100 metres. Both the Wat and the Chedi are superb.
This place is wonderful! It is located in the old town, in the middle of the town. The best time to visit is in the night.
I like the architecture, because seems quite different from the temples in Bangkok. It is beautiful, but even more beautiful at night with all the lightings.
Worth a 30 minute stop to get a break from Chiang Mai's intense heat. Gorgeous temple, cool reclining Buddha and interesting ruins of what was a huge Wat at some point. In the heart of Chiang Mai, it's very easy to get to and a good historical spot to visit.
It's a beautiful peaceful place, that was a pleasure to wander around and experience even in the blistering heat.
The golden leafs make everything looks very expensive and elegant. This is one of the main attractions inside the old town of Chiang Mai. Must see! They said a visit at night to the ruin behind the temple is even better. Too bad I found out after I left Chiang Mai.. :(
