we went down this way yesterday and the whole area is a bit scruffy with mainly pop up bars and little markets on later in the day, the beach is no better than Pattaya and those looking for something nicer should get on the ferry (150 baht return) from Pattaya pier which takes about 40 pleasant minutes with a good... This is a very relaxing place to go, it has nice paths to walk along, the beach has brown sand but the water is very warm. I recommend you go when the tide is going out. High tide shows no beach. There are miles of Umbrellas and pool chairs to choose from, food is available. I would rate the beach... More

The divining line between "Naklua" to the north of "Pattaya central" and "Jomtien" to the south is hard to pinpoint, but it contains the greater share of what is livable, "not a chain" containing streets which are intelligently laid out to minimize car and bus traffic at the beachfront. Locals love it because the beach is laid out, spacious and... More

Jomtien is definitely quitter than downtown Pattaya and the beach area. So if you want quiet go here instead of Pattaya beach. Not sure what entertainment is there at night to keep you busy compared to what downtown Pattaya has to offer.

The very shallow beach here allows you to walk a couple of hundred yards into the water and it's still only 4ft deep. Service is good with plenty of vendors selling drinks and snacks. I had a nice pedicure and leg massage while there too.

The part of the beach i was at, is long and thin with not much room for laying in the sun, even though there are places for doing this, and sunbathing. There are lots and lots of seats on the beach to be rented, and for a narrow beach with a lot of people and activity on it and around... More

I am not a big fan of the beaches in Pattaya, and find Jomtien beach a bit more relaxed. In previous visits I found there was a lot of trash on the beach, but found this visit a real effort was being made to make the area cleaner. That being said, the water quality is certainly not like the sparking... More

There are vendors up and down the beach that will sell you a canvas seat to sit on and an umbrella to sit under for about 30Baht or one dollar. They will sell you drinks etc and some will go and get what ever you want from up the street,,,for a fee. Lot of venders also try to sell there... More
