I found this place interesting and weird at the same time. From an historical point of view, the fact that the Nth Vietnamese came crashing through the gates of this Palace to end the conflict provided an actual link to the past for someone interested in history. It is weird because inside is cavernous and completely lacking in any atmosphere... More

Great to look around and see how the upper echelon lived during the war, plenty of guides available but you don't really need them. More

The building and it's content are not grand, just basic 1960s+ objects and decor. The history is interesting if you can get someone to talk to you about, I think they do free tours! The only A/C part is one museum-type gallery of photos so it is worth a long stop here just to cool off (there is also a... More

Interesting to see the different influences on the architecture, and to see the old war rooms as they were. More

Only £1 entry and then a free 1 hour guide tour (available in several languages). I have to say we got far more out of the visit by going on the tour than if we had just wondered around on our own. The guide was excellent, giving a lot of historical context and information on the philosophy behind the architectural... More

Interesting to see how the rulers lived before the fall of Saigon. They seemed well insulated with a private movie theatre and helicopter pad. The basement bunker is a must see as well as the kitchens. More

This is one of the most important buildings in the city. Here on April 30th 1975 the ‘American War’ officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. More

You'll notice this when you go there. Each room showcases the meeting rooms that they had back then. More
