When we go to Bangladesh, this is a regular place to visit. It is full of history, and the monument is beautiful to look at. I suggest going in the morning to get the best pictures. The light is favourable to standing in front of the monument.

If you are a Bangladeshi or a foreigner you must visit the national memorial if you haven't visited. This is a bit away from Dhaka at Savar. But on a weekend will not take more than 30 minutes from Dhaka.

I visited this site on my first full day in Bangladesh - so it was a part of my acclimatisation process. First time people wanted a photo of me & with me. First time i was approached by beggars - that was at the gates.

The Bangladeshi's are very proud of their country and are very friendly.
