As a new resident of Bangladesh-i am going to explore my new home for the next several years. This was our first trip out of Dhaka-- for that i would give it 4/5 stars. However, for the place itself--2.5 in reality. The walls are crumbling-- with little thoughts of perserving them-- even the tour guide was ashamed of how far... More

I was pursuaded by our Business partner to visit this placa and the decision was correct ! This place is awsome. The ruins are located in a very small area ... its just a street but have the ruins on either side. If you look closely, it has resemblnce of the British architechture and mesmerises you. More info can be... More

This was my second visit. It is good to see that some long overdue restoration is going on. The Museum in the palace is probably the sadest I have ever seen with termite eaten exhibits. But the new museum just up the path is worth a look at. The grounds are extensive so it is a good place to get... More

It's otherworldly, especially during winter! Panam city which is nearby looks like a movie set out of aristocratic old bangla movies.

My visit to Panam City was truly the highlight of my visit to Bangladesh. I enjoyed the opportunity to walk slowly up and down the main street, talk to residents, and talk photos at my leisure. Seeing Sonaraon was also memorable. The crowds were friendly and many wanted a photo with an American with blue eyes. Great trip not to... More

The 500 year old mosque was interesting but the highlights are the decaying mansions lining the road. It's not possible to get into most as they are so decayed that they could collapse, but we got into one in which the entertainment room had been well preserved. The nearby folk museum was rather dark with small, not very interesting exhibits,... More

3 hours by car from the airport, can take more, can take less. Traffic is crazy in Dhaka. Bring plenty of water and some snacks. You can buy some fruits from the side of the road but other than that nothing is really recommended if your stomach is sensitive. Ask your driver to pop by the "fake Taj Mahal" which... More

It's a historical place it became as the capital of Bengal during "Isa Khan's" ruling. However, right now it has few small Museums and little lake inside the area also few restaurants. It's kinda nice place and near to Dhaka to spend some spare time.
