The audio guide helps to explain what happened here in short concise chunks. You can walk around the small lake to a sala to sit and listen to the longer stories in peace and quiet. A very sad chapter of Cambodian history and I was pleased to see a large group of teenage school children there learning about it. If... More

Feel a little guilty rating such a sad place but it is a "must see" when in Cambodia, to help one understand just a little bit about the recent history of this wonderful country. First visit was 3 years ago and they have improved it immensely. The $5 entrance fee includes a audio tour device that has fairly good content... More

There are signs that explain what happened. It is devastating and upsetting because they had no care about what they did. It shows the devastation of a revolting Pol Pot who was disturbed and hurt many

My husband and I went to Choeung Ek the end of April 2013. It is a short tuk tuk trip from Phnom Penh and I recommend hiring a driver for the day instead of paying for just the trip there and back to town. When we arrived we paid for our tickets and received hand held audio tour guides. While... More

This a must do tour. It is well put together tour that allows for individual exploration of the site-the audio portion was well put together. But the over-all experience was a sobering reminder that the sick mind a few can cause so much horror to many.

Very sad but good history lesson. Can be scary for more sensitive people. Save half day for this tour.

I initially found the site itself to be very peaceful but the brutality and extent of lost lives soon became very apparent. Viewing the mass graves, the killing tree, and the pagoda full of victims skulls was very sobering and I certainly questioned in my mind how human beings can do this to one another. The experience definitely has remained... More

This place was the highlight of my visit to Phnom Penh, I suppose it was the main reason I went actually. This killing field was one of the locations where, during the Khmer Rouge regime in the 70s, thousands of innocent Cambodians were murdered. It’s a sad reminder of how cruel man can be. At the entrance you’re given an... More

A terrible but an essential must see side of phnom penh. The audio tour experience is incredible and horrible at the same time. Imagining what happened back then will break your heart, but i still believe it's essential for every person to get to know this part of history to stop it if it ever happens in the future, sick...
