This is an oasis in the heat as lots of shade and green. Don't try and take a picture anywhere near the doors of the museum as you will be asked to delete the pictures. Small token (under $2) admission. Clean washrooms! Small unimpressive gift counter. More

It’s been converted into a museum and houses several artifacts, antiques and old buddhas including a miniature emerald Buddha, that is a replica of the original. More

We had the amazing experience of visiting Ho Phrakeo in Vientiane. It's awesome how two buildings with the same purpose can be so completely polar opposite. Ho Phrakeo is a quiet, dignified stone building rich with carvings and surrounded by simple, yet lush landscaping of native plans. There is an overlying feeling of serenity and quiet to the temple grounds... More

A beautiful temple that contains some interesting historical and religious artefacts. We only wished there was more information about these artefacts and their significance to Buddhism or to Laos. More

LOGISTICS Diagonally opposite Wat Si Saket, you can walk here from the tourist area of Vientiane or alternatively do it as a part of a cycling tour of the city featuring Wat Si saket > Ho Pra Keo > COPE visitor centre > Patuxai > Phat That Luang. The area around the first 3 is quite busy but once you... More
